Crafts Council
The Crafts Council promotes the contemporary crafts in UK. It is an independent organisation funded by Arts Council England and provides services to craftspeople and the public.
"We want to inspire more people to pursue craft as a career; buy contemporary craft for enjoyment or investment; exhibit or sell craft; learn more about contemporary craft; or simply be able to appreciate it close to where they live.
In order to achieve this we will be:
- Working in partnership with other organisations
Establishing partnerships with national and regional organisations such as arts venues, museums and retailers, so skills, knowledge, influence and funding can be shared.
- Establishing a strong regional presence across England
Ensuring people get involved in craft by building strong connections with venues across the nine Arts Council regions in England.
- Leading the shaping and strengthening of national craft education policy
Working with partners to embed contemporary craft in formal and informal education settings."
